Job Duties: Creating dashboards and managing data for the NOAA Fisheries Contract
Homebase: Shady Side, Md.
How did your career path lead you to GoldenWolf?
I got my undergraduate degree in traditional mathematics and taught for three years. However, I did not love that trajectory for my career long-term, and I heard about the opportunity for this role here at GoldenWolf, and the rest is history.
What does the typical workday look like for you?
As the only data analyst for the NOAA Fisheries Contract, my day revolves around creating new dashboards and reports, updates on facilities, and where money and resources need to be allocated. This leads to spending much of my time in Excel and Tableau.
What is your favorite aspect about your job?
I really enjoy challenges and puzzles, so that pairs really well with my work as I analyze the data.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
It definitely is time management. Balancing the slower days to the 12-hour deadline-driven workdays.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone starting in this role for the first time?
Ask every question you have, there are no stupid questions, and YouTube and Google are your best friends.
Outside of work, what activities or hobbies do you enjoy?
I love spending time with my dog, taking hikes and walking, and lifting weights.
If you woke up on a Friday to find you had the day off, how would you spend the day?
I would definitely relax and go to the beach with friends or family.
