Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina is, by population, the largest military installation in the world. It is home to the Army’s Airborne Corps and the Army’s Special Operations Command. The Womack Army Medical Center serves more than 160,000 eligible beneficiaries in the region, the largest beneficiary population in the Army. The first hospital at Fort Bragg was built in 1918 and the base’s current hospital opened in 2000 at 1,020,359 square feet in size.
